Intimate Lessons (1982) is a vintage American adult drama directed by Philip Marshak, combining erotic situations, eccentric characters, comedy, and a darker storyline involving manipulation and seduction. The film takes place at the country estate of Sir Aubrey Cocksworth and his wife, Lady Amanda, who host weekend gatherings for guests seeking new experiences and a way to overcome their inhibitions.
Sir Aubrey and Lady Amanda welcome a group of guests to their mansion, promising to share their unusual knowledge of relationships and sexual exploration. Under the supervision of their hosts, the guests gradually become involved in a series of increasingly unconventional encounters. The household’s chauffeur and the mysterious servant Boris also play roles in the unusual proceedings, adding to the film’s distinctive atmosphere.
The situation takes a darker turn when one guest decides to leave early after rejecting Lady Amanda’s advances. Rather than accepting his decision, she manipulates the situation, changing the direction of the weekend and introducing a more unsettling element to the story. This combination of sexual exploration, eccentric humor, and power games distinguishes Intimate Lessons from a straightforward adult film.
Directed by Philip Marshak, known for other cult adult productions including Dracula Sucks and Blue Ice, the film features Kay Parker as Lady Amanda and Paul Thomas as Sir Aubrey Cocksworth. The supporting cast includes K.C. Valentine, Danielle, Becky Savage, Jessie Blu, Jeff Conrad, Jerry Ram, Maria Tortuga, Pat Manning, Richard Bulik, and William Margold. Margold appears as the chauffeur, while Richard Bulik plays Boris.
Originally released in 1982, Intimate Lessons is an example of the story-driven adult films produced during the early 1980s, with an emphasis on named characters, a central setting, and a plot that develops throughout the film. Its unusual premise and blend of broad comedy with more unsettling dramatic elements give it a distinctive place among vintage adult dramas.
The film later received renewed attention through a Blu-ray edition released by Quality X in 2024. That edition was newly restored in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative, presenting the film in its original widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with English audio. This post features an HD 720p version of the 1982 film.
