Jolanda – No 28 (1977)

Jolanda is captured by the Maya, led by King Matazumo and the high priest Tikad. After being drugged, she is dressed in ritual clothing and taken to a clay bath, where she is to be immersed. The Maya intend to turn her into a statue symbolizing beauty and virginity, which will be placed on top of the sacrificial mountain.

Pardo, who has remained loyal to Jolanda since her escape from the fortress of Buenas, is also captured. Meanwhile, Jean Lafayette and his friends, still convinced that Jolanda is imprisoned in Maracaibo, know nothing about what is happening on the mysterious island of the Maya. They have meanwhile managed to capture the governor of Maracaibo in his own palace and promise to spare his life if he releases Jolanda.
